These answers come from real questions and points of confusion raised during the founding pilot.
How do you decide what goes in my email?
FamSignal uses the area, child age bands, travel distance, budget, times and topics supplied by your household. Suitable items are matched to those preferences, checked by a person and edited into a short list with direct source links.
Why don’t I see every suitable local activity?
The email is designed to stay readable. From 4 October, each edition can include up to 5-6 activities plus 2-3 useful updates, chosen from the strongest matches available that week.
Can I change my area or preferences?
Yes. Reply to a FamSignal email or contact hello@famsignal.co.uk. Changes received before the next edition is built can be reflected in that week's matching.
Is the founding pilot free?
Yes. All four founding-pilot editions are free and there is no automatic charge. If FamSignal continues after the pilot, any future offer and price will be explained before you decide whether to join.
What happens after the four-week pilot?
The final pilot edition is planned for Sunday 18 October 2026. We will review the feedback and decide what should happen next. Joining any later service will be optional.
How current are the dates, prices and booking details?
FamSignal checks time-sensitive details before each edition and links to the direct source. Providers can still change or cancel something afterwards, so confirm important details at the linked page before travelling or paying.
What personal information do you use?
For the pilot, FamSignal uses the participating adult's first name and email, a postcode district or local-authority area, broad child age bands and the household's preferences. We do not ask for children's names, exact dates of birth or full home addresses.
How can I give feedback or report something wrong?
Use the feedback link in your weekly email, reply directly to the email or contact hello@famsignal.co.uk. Corrections are checked against the source and recorded.
